This group was started to provide a place for acoustic instrument musicians of all playing levels to meet, jam, collaborate and have fun playing with others. The hope is to have a convenient location and time for regular biweekly jams. Another goal is to find a venue to host a regular open-mic.
Hudson Valley - Gardiner NY Irish Music Trad Slow-Session exists to bring together beginner, intermediate and advanced players in a convivial, non-threatening environment to play trad music. We aim to meet at people's homes or other local private spaces where we don't need to "perform" for our listeners, we can just play for ourselves and our own enjoyment. The oldtime slow jam will take place every second and fourth Sunday @ Brooklyn Rod & Gun Club. The jam will have three leaders on banjo, guitar and fiddle who will be there from 6-8:30pm. Promptly at 7:30 we'll take a break where you can get drinks and mingle. We'll start up again and continue till 8:30.
